Pistachios are a member of the cashew family and Iran is the worlds largest producer of pistachios with an annual production estimated to 200,000 tons. The country’s congenial environment and climate, breeding and continuous preservation of trees have paved the way for production of the worlds finest pistachios with the absolute highest quality. They are also produced in some Middle-Eastern countries, Turkey, Greece and Egypt. California is another major producer of pistachios.
